In a game that featured two teams tied for top spot, it only ever looked like one would be the winner. Snickas came out and grabbed the most important game of the season by the neck and never gave it back. A pair of 3 goal spurts sunk the Seamen. Despite pulling to within a goal midway through the second, the Seamen just could find away past a vastly improved Snickas backline. Snickas goalie Kirk Burgess and the entire defence corps were solid and even weathered the storm of having one of their blueliners ejected in the second period. Pete Hogan, UFC'd a Seaman to the ice and both were sent off for an early shower.
Despite playing without their leading scorer, Snickas still racked up 6 goals for the third time in the last four games. The goal of the night came from the most unlikely of sources; Gary Hogan, known for his fine defensive work broke up a pass while killing a penalty, noticed no one between the Seamen goalie and himself and took off. Gary was all alone from Centre Ice on, and with a quick move scored what would turn out to be the eventual game winner.
The win moves Snickas into soul possession of first overall with just two games remaining in the regular season.
