Mooseheads 6, Snickas 6!!!
Where to start, where to finish??? Snickas never led but were denied the win in the final seconds; it was a wild night in Brampton.
In their first ever meeting Snickas and the Mooseheads lit the lamp for 12 goals! Defence was nowhere to be found at either end and both goalies made just enough saves to keep their teams from losing.
The result favoured Snickas more than the Mooseheads because Snickas came back from three (3-1, 5-3 & 6-4) 2 goal deficits to force the tie. In what was one of their finest offensive performances Snickas showed the heart of Champions in rallying from behind and were extremely unlucky not to take all the points. After tying the game with 36 ticks left, Snickas looked to have stolen the game with 5 seconds to go. The puck went in a split second before the net was dislodged according to the Snicka forwards but the Referees disallowed the goal. It was a real bang-bang play and without the benefit of video replay Snickas were denied the win.

Snickas Weekly
Snickas head into the unknown tonight in search of their league leading 10th win.
After dropping only their second game in their last 8 last week, Snickas hope to get back on the winning track tonight when they face the recently relegated Mississauga Moosehead.
The Moosehead currently sit last in the Molson Canadian Division but oddly enough won their finally game in the top flight last week.
This will be the first time the two teams have ever met and should be an interesting match. First vs. Worst are never as easy on the ice as they seem on paper.
The puck drops at 10:15pm at the Powerade Centre in Brampton.

The Wrap: Snickas vs. SU Storm
Crushed by an avalanche of first period goals, Snickas fall to the SU Storm 6-3.
As quickly as they were up 1-0, Snickas soon found themselves down 3-1. All 3 of the Storms goals were rockets to the top right corner. In what was was arguably his worst outing of the year, Snickas netminder Kirk Burgess was visibly shaken after the game; "You never want to lay an egg like that. They're good team and I bet they're setting over there thinking they have our number. I think we get them one more time this year and hopefully we'll see a different result."
Snickas were able to get a goal back by the end of the first but after a scoreless second period the flood gates opened again in the third. The hard forecheck of the Storm coupled with some questionable officiating seemed to have Snickas on their back heels for most of the night. Snickas remain first in the Molson Canadian Division but now by just 1 point.

Bottom feeders HSBC Banks and the Brampton Sharks have been relegated from the B Division. Taking their spots are the Milton Chiefs and Mississauga Mooseheads, who were relegated from the A Division.
Snickas have never faced the Mooseheads before but it's the return of their long time league rivals the Milton Chiefs that should spice up the remainder of the season.
Both of the new teams are placed in the bottom half of the standings, but the Chiefs track star Chris Clarke assumes the League Scoring lead over Craig Morton.
Snickas get their first look at the league newbies next week when they face the Mooseheads, but it's February 5th when one of Mens League Hockey's greatest rivalries resumes when Snickas face the Chiefs.

Snickas Weekly
Snickas vs. the SU Storm, Tonight at 9:15.
Snickas go in search of a season high 4 game win streak as they take on the only team to have beaten them in their last 7 games. The SU Storm beat Snickas in come from behind fashion on December 4th. In that game Snickas raced out to a 3-1 lead only to have a sure victory snatched from them in a third period collapse.
Snickas enter tonight's game sitting on top of the Molson Canadian Division with 21 points. The Storm currently sit fourth with 13.

The Wrap: Snickas vs. The Seamen
A Mess outside but an absolute delight inside, Snickas sled comfortable to 3-1 win!
The League's best team and best defencemen showed exactly why they are just that in tonight's dominating performance over the 2nd placed Seamen. Snickas controlled the puck for long stretches of time in the Seamen's end and when they needed a goal they simple turned to their top defencemen, Neil Townsend. Townsend potted all three goals for Snickas; The opener, a 2-two man down shorthanded job, the game winner came even strength and the final goal came on the powerplay.
The Entire Snickas team showed great discipline but weren't' afraid to mix it up. Trailing 1-0 and nothing going right the Seamen tried to get physical but that didn't work either. Both Morton brothers got involved in some of festivities and showed their hands are not just for racking up points. Chris and Craig both squared up opponents in the second period.
Aside from Townsend's outstanding night, the entire Snickas backline including goalie Kirk Burgess were exceptional. They were efficient to the point of borderline anal, not a single second chance opportunity came the Seamens way with all but one of their shots either smothered immediately or cleared by the blueline core. Snickas came within 48 seconds of their first shutout of the season but the game and two points are all that matter to this extremely focused bunch.
Snickas Stars:
1st Star: Neil Townsend. A rock on the blueline going either forward or defending. Look for an upcoming one on one with Neil discussing Fatherhood, his ever present 5 o'clock shadow and his decision to almost leave Snickas last summer.
2nd Star: Chris Murdoch. After an early gaffe Chris rebounded superbly, shutting down several Seamen attacks. His 4 PIMS also showed fiery redheads physical nature.
3rd Star(s): The Hogan Brothers: Both Gary and Pete may not always figure on the score sheet but the dirty work they do is not undetected and tonight they Brothers Hogan were in fine form.

The Wrap: Snickas vs. Swamp Donkeys
A new calendar but the same results, Snickas win their 6th in their last 7 with a 5-3 win over the Swamp Donkeys.
In a game that looked to have gotten away from them, Snickas showed why they are 2-time League champs with a stirring come from behind win. After racing out to a 2-0 lead, Snickas seemed to take their foot off the pedal and allowed the Donkeys to get back in the game. After a 2 goal first period, Snickas found themselves trailing 3-2 by the midway point of the second stanza. The Donkeys scored 3 goals in 3 and half minutes and looked to have taken all the momentum, but like the Champions they are Snickas rallied back and put the game away in the third period.
Snickas Stars:
1st Star: Kirk Burgess. The Snickas goalie may not be having his best year statistically speaking but he is certainly making the big saves when it counts. Kirk made 4 or 5 of the game changing variety in the third period alone.
2nd Star: Brian Titherington. A Hat Trick for the Snickas "Jack of all trades". BT now leads the league in goal scoring by 5 goals; 14 in 14 games!
3rd Star: Paul Stinnett. 2 assists and a huge shot block in the second period. Stinnett got off to a slow start this season but has posted 2 multi point games in Snickas last 3 outings.

Snickas Weekly
As the Calendar turns to 2007, Snickas ended 2006 right where they want to be; on top of the Molson Canadian Monday Night Division. Snickas hold a 1 point advantage over the rest of the league and with 5 teams with 5 points the run to the playoffs should be brilliant.
Snickas wrapped up 2006 with a slug-fest 3-2 win over the Brampton Sharks. Penalties and fights filled the game but it was two plays that will remain in the hearts of the fans that came out that night. Craig Morton, who played on a different planet during the first half of the season scored a Bobby Orr-esque goal. Having his legs taken out from underneath him by the on rushing goalie, Craig somehow managed to control the puck and tuck it in the net while his body was parallel with ice.
The other play was a fantastic stretch leg save by Kirk Burgess moments after Craig's goal, it looked like a sure tap in until the GO GO Gadget right leg of the Snickas goalie stole the chance.
Snickas Stars:
1st Star: Craig Morton, a game winner and an assist on the opening goal of the night.
2nd Star: Chris Morton, like his younger brother Morton Senior banged in a goal and an assist.
3rd Star: Darren Steedman, the sometimes unheralded power forward scooped up 2 assists.
First Half Awards:
Offence: Craig Morton. Leads the league in points with 16 and has registered at least a point in 11 of Snickas 13 games.
Defence: Neil Townsend. Is the top scoring defencemen in the league with 12 points and has a scrappy 18 minutes in penalties to go along with his point totals.

Snickas get back on track with an impressive 4-2 win over HSBC.
Your boys in tan dominated for long stretches of the game and avoided the defensive and mental mistakes that cost them dearly last time out. Like last week Snickas found themselves leading 3-1 but instead of giving up the lead they continued to build on it. With 9 forwards and 5 defencemen ice time was at a premium and none of the boys wanted to waste a shift.
Snickas also did a good job staying out of the Penalty box, committing just one minor penalty. The win moved Snickas to within a point of the two teams tied atop the standings; Both the Swamp Donkeys and the Seamen have 16, while Snickas are right behind with 15 points from the 12 games played this season.
Snicka Stars:
First Star - Brian Titherington, scored 2 and added an assist. BT was taken off the ice late with an undisclosed lower body injury.
Second Star - Kirk Burgess, a solid night in goal for the birthday boy. Kirk's biggest moment came after the game where he negotiated a $40 fee to play another game for the Swamp Donkeys. The Donkeys lost 2-1 to the Brampton Sharks
Third Star - Paul Stinnett, the man simply known as Flexor picked up 2 assists.
Snickas have one more game before the Holiday Break next week at 10pm against the Brampton Sharks. It will also be your last chance to donate to the Snickas Holiday Food Drive. Donate a non-perishable food item and take home a clean mind as well as a mitt full of Snicka Stickas!

Snickas sit in third place, 7 points ahead of their opponents tonight. Despite the gap in the standings Snickas have yet to to beat HSBC this year, tying the first game and losing the second 6-5. Snickas will hope to exact a small amount of revenge from there last meeting which saw the Referees ruin the game by ejecting goalie Kirk Burgess with 9 and half minutes to go. The fact that Snickas only went on to lose the game by only 1 (ON A PENALTY SHOT, no less) shows the kind of character in the Snickas Locker room.

-Tonight is Kirk Burgess' birthday and there are rumors that the team plan on decorating his locker 'high school ' style.
-Tonight is also the opening night for the Snickas Holiday Food Drive. Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item to tonight's and next weeks games will receive a mitt full of Snicka Stickas. With the game starting at 6:15 tonight we are hoping for a large family turn out. So bring in those extra Mac n' Cheese boxes and help the needy.

Due to a death in the family there will be no Snickas Weekly or Wrap Report this week.
Snickas did fall Monday night 4-3 to the Sports Unlimited Storm. The loss ended Snickas 3 game winning streak. Snickas now sit in third place, but are only 3 points behind the first place unit.

Snickas win again; 3 in a row!
Snickas won their third game in row last night with a convincing 4-1 win over the Seamen. It may not have been their best game of the year but the boys in tan put out a total team effort. Strong performances in goal, on the blueline, and on the penalty kill were the real difference makers.
Snickas have had no trouble filling the net in bunches this season and that streak continued with 4 second period goals that killed the game in their favour. Seamen scored late in the second period but in the third period goalie Kirk Burgess slammed the door. Snickas have only conceded 6 goals in their last three games and seem to have put their early season defensive lapses behind them.

1st Star: Brian Titherington, 2 goals including a beauty penalty shot. BT now leads the league in goal scoring with 9.
2nd Star: Dave Mammoliti, a goal and an assist for the diminutive power forward.

Snickas set sail this week against the 1st Place Seamen.
The Seamen are currently tied for top spot along with the Swamp Donkeys, but Snickas only trail the two teams by a single point. Snickas enter the game riding a 2 game winning streak and will want to keep that streak alive against a team they've already beat once this year 3-1.
The Action gets underway at 9:15pm tonight at the Powerade Centre in Brampton.

Tonight's game saw Snickas trail three times, gain the lead, give it back and then eventually hold on for a stirring 5-4 win. These are the types of wins players talk about as confidence boosters because they were behind for much of the game but still managed to pull it out in the end.

Snickas return to the ice tonight to take on the first place Swamp Donkeys.
Both clubs are averaging more than 4 goals scored a game so tonight's contest should be a wild one. Snickas look to build on their win last week and will also have all their previously suspended players back in the line up. The two teams have met once this season, a 2-2 draw back on October 16th.
The puck drops tonight at 8:15, tickets are going fast because of the early start time so get there early.

It was Surf and Turf time for Snickas last night as they filleted the Brampton Sharks 2-1.
Snickas took to the ice missing 5 regulars but still found away to halt their 2 game losing streak. The game itself lacked a lot of energy but that could be easily blamed on the 11:15pm start time. After a scoreless first period, Snickas found the net twice in the opening minute of the second period, the Sharks scored late ruining the shutout bid but the game was never as close as the scoreboard read. Long periods of the game were spent in the Sharks end as Snickas dominated possession.
Snickas 3 Stars:
1 - Neil Townsend, the big blueliner was all over the ice and his second period powerplay goal ended up being the game winner.
2 - Kent Burgess, the super sub goaltender was a minute away from a shutout. Wasn't busy but was solid if not spectacular when called upon. Kent's Snickas career record when filling in for his brother now sits at 3 wins and 2 ties. Goalie controversy??????
3 - Dan Tojeira, the winger had the most jump out of any of the Snicka forwards and his hard worked paid off when he banged in the games opening goal.

Snickas lose a wild one, 6-5 to HSBC Bank.
Tonight's game wrap is going to be in two parts; one will be a regular game recap and the second part will be a sit interview with Snickas goalie Kirk Burgess.
Through two periods the game mirrored Snickas season. They held the lead 3-2, scoring two shorthanded goals and kept HSBC in the game with defensive mistakes and weak goaltending. After about a minute into the third period the game came undone. Snickas found themselves in penalty trouble and HSBC were able to tie the game on a two man advantage. With the score now tied at 3-3, Craig Morton took a penalty for seemingly playing too hard. Snickas goalie Kirk Burgess shouted out his frustrations and after a brief exchange with the referee the Snickas goalie was ejected from the game. There was over 9 and half minutes to go and Snickas found themselves down two men and now without a goalie.
The Squadron rallied together and with less than a minute to go found themselves now tied at 5-5. With less than 10 seconds to go HSBC dumped the puck in the Snickas end and one of the Snickas players knocked the net off. The referee, in one of the most bizarre moments this reporters has ever seen, singled for a Penalty Shot. A PENALTY SHOT with NO GOALIE! Snickas players went mental! The ice became littered with sticks and the language was straight out of the gutter. The referee's decided to award the goal automatically and end the game right there.
In all my years covering hockey I've never seen a game quite like this one. Snickas must now wait for the official League report and face the possibility of seeing 3 of their players suspend; Goalie Kirk Burgess and forwards Dave Pearson and David Mammoliti.
Even though there is no 3 stars selection because of the loss a special shout out must go to Craig Morton, who busted his hump all night and scored two absolute beauties. Craig's form took a bit of a dip last season but the talented centre has certainly broken out of his funk this year.

Snickas Weekly - First lets talk about tonight, obviously we hoped to be doing this interview after a Snickas win but what happened out there?
Kirk Burgess - It should've been a win and I really let the team down. We're struggling for points right now and this should've been an easy two. I'm not going to lie or hide and I know I deserved a penalty but to be ran from the game was a bit ridiculous.
SW - Can you tell us what was said?
KB - Yeah, I shouted out that it was a bullshit call. It was, Craigy was just battling, neither player was giving in, it was totally 50-50. We'd just finished being two men down and with that call we were down two again. I had nothing to lose so I shouted out my feelings. The ref then challenged me to say another word, which I didn't and then he got cocky and responded with "That's what I thought" and I responded by telling him how f-ing tough he was. Next thing I know I'm tossed and like I said I probably cost us the game.
SW - Snickas seem to be having a lot of penalty trouble this year, how much of it is you and how much of it is the officiating?
KB - I'd say it's a bit of both. Tonight was the first game though where most of the calls went against us.
SW - What did you think when they award the Penalty Shot?
KB - Totally laughable. After they kicked me out I sat in the stands right beside HSBC's bench and when that happened I was joking with the other Goalie that he should take it.
SW - Enough about tonight, how do rate Snickas this season?
KB - That's tough because I don't think any of us players feel we've played a complete game yet. We had solid periods but that's about it. We get good offence, then good defense but not normally at the same time. Its been a bit frustrating and my play as been so wacky this year. I'm really fighting the puck and as you saw on that second goal tonight I was really out to lunch. If I do get suspended it will give me a chance to rest up some wounds and hopefully start fresh when they let me back out there.
SW - You guys have won two League Championships, how important is the regular season to a veteran loaded team like Snickas?
KB - Oh extremely, like you said we've got those two championships but the one thing we don't have is a Super Series Crown. We've played in the tournament twice, but have come up empty. You don't get in the Super Series unless you finish first in the regular season so it means a lot to us.
SW - I hate to bring this up but the Milton Chiefs won again tonight, so coupled with your loss the gap between you two is now 5 points.
KB - They're a tough bunch, the don't lose that many. We've been battling them for 4 years now, 5 points doesn't sound like a lot but you look at it and we're already a third of the way through the schedule and it will be tough to make up ground. We just have to win our games against them and hope for the best. Hockey in April in the best because you know you've earned the right to be there and tournament hockey is like no other.
SW - Lets move onto some personally stuff before we let you get out of here. Talk about the new baby and talk about that hair.
KB - Oh Hannah is great, she's just the most amazing thing ever. We just celebrated her 1st birthday and she had a blast. She's walking now and is a total handful but a great handful. The hair is just me being me, I took four months off work to stay at home with the baby and thought 'I've never had long hair, maybe I'll grow mine out' I've kinda gotten used to it but I said after last week that I'd cut it if we lose 2, so guess it'll be gone by next week.

Both teams are currently in the lower half of the division and Snickas really need a win tonight to avoid falling further behind the league leaders. Despite only losing once this season the team would like find some consistency. "We consider ourselves a top team but the standings aren't reflecting that right now" said Snickas goalie Kirk Burgess, "It seems like every game we are either trying to make a last minute come back or hanging on for dear life".
The two teams have met once this season resulting in a 4-4 tie. Snickas enter the game with a record of 2 wins, 1 loss and 3 ties.

Live by the sword and die by it too. Last week Snickas capitalized on their power play chances but this week they couldn’t get anything going with the man advantage and even gave up two shorthanded goals. The Milton Chiefs snapped Snickas 5 game unbeaten streak with a 4-2 win.
Like last weeks game last nights game was filled with minor penalties. 16 in all for both teams, Snickas even found themselves shorthanded for almost 5 minutes straight; 3 of those 5 were spent two men down. With the referee’s trying to call a game similar to the NHL the boys in tan are really going to have to crack down on their stick work.

Both teams are flying in the league right now, with only one point between them at the top of the Standings. Snickas remain the only unbeaten team in the league but the Chiefs sit in first place with a loss in week 1 to Snickas as their only blemish. Snickas won opening night 9-4, scoring 6 third period goals.
This great rivalry really grew after last season when the Chiefs finished first in the regular season, a position that Snickas had held the previous two years. The two teams have finished either first or second the last two seasons but something the Chiefs can't match is Snickas playoff success. In a game that was bogged down with 17 minor penalties Snickas found away to keep their unbeaten streak intact with a 3-1 win over the Seamen.
The game was marred by 11 stick infractions and Snickas felt both sides of the man advantage sword, netting twice on the power play but giving up a short handed goal to start the game. In a miscommunication between Defenseman Chris Murdoch and Goalie Kirk Burgess the puck was turned over and Snickas found themselves behind early. The Snickas offence was not so much slowed by the Seamen defense as it was by all the penalties and it took a period for the boys in tan to get things going. The final two periods belonged to Snickas, and the puck barely left the Seamen's end. When the Seamen did get a chance Kirk Burgess was there to shut the door on them.

Snickas head off into uncharted waters this Monday night and take on The Seamen. The two teams have never met before so this should be an interesting game for the boys in tan.
Snickas enter the game still undefeated but are currently sitting in fourth place; with a win and three straight ties in their first four games. The Seamen are also undefeated (3 wins, 1 tie) but their three victories came against inferior competition, as they were only promoted to the Molson Canadian Monday Night Division just last week.
The puck drops tomorrow night at the Powerade Centre in Brampton at 8:15pm. With the early start time tickets are moving fast so don't be left out at sea.

The Wrap: Snickas vs. Swamp Donkeys
October 17th, 2006
Snickas tie again; 2-2 vs. the Swamp Donkeys
Snickas put their early season defensive woes behind them and matched the league leaders shot for shot but the two netminders one upped the shooters and the score was level after a period. The league leading Donkeys slowly gained an edge in puck possession and opened the scoring on the powerplay late in the period. The goal though seemed to wake up the Snickas offence, who managed only 4 shots in the second period. Snickas pressed hard and were rewarded with an equalizer. Craig Morton ripped a shot through the five hole and the game was tied again. Both teams turned up the heat with the goalies at both ends forced into making crucial saves.
The Swamp Donkeys regained the lead on a shot from far out that fooled Snicka goalie Kirk Burgess. What looked like a harmless floater on goal ended up in the top corner.The Snickas goalie didn't let the goal rattle him and kept his team alive on the very next shift with an outstanding breakaway save. As time wound down Snickas seemed to get a huge break when the Swamp Donkeys had their best defenceman ejected from the game for his third penalty. It turns out that it was a timekeeper error but on the ensuing powerplay with the goalie on the bench Snickas tied it through Chris Murdoch with less than a minute to go.
Man of the Match: Chris Murdoch. The Fiery redheaded defenceman found himself alone in front of the Swamp Donkeys net and tucked home the late equalizer. It was the second game in a row that Murdoch has scored a late tying goal.
Injury Notes: Captain Chris Morton showed no signs of a groin problem that saw him miss the third period last week. Chris skated hard all night long, playing every other shift while looking pain free. Defenceman Gary Hogan took a puck in the mouth, luckily for Gary no teeth were jarred but he is sporting a monster fat lip complete with a matching 7mm cut. Gary should be good to go next week but will probably wear a full shield as a precautionary measure.

The Swamp Donkeys hold a two point edge over our beloved Snickas in the standings.
The Molson Canadian Monday Night Division received a bit of a shake up over the Thanksgiving weekend. The Ice Dawgs, who have lost all three of their games have been relegated to the Molson Dry Monday Night Division and taking their spot are The Seaman. The Seaman wear a bright orange jersey, with Captain Highliner as their logo. They made Fish Pies out of the lower division competition and Snickas will get their first look at the new team next Monday night.

Another game, another tie, and another 4 goals allowed. Snickas can't seem to find the right mix of offence and defense to move up the standings after another hit-n-miss performance. Last night the Brampton Sharks provided a tough test but in the end it was a game that Snickas really should've won.
Snickas raced out to 2-0 lead but by the end of the second period they found themselves trailing by a goal. Another Sharks goal early in the third looked to have sealed the game but Snickas showed the fight that has made them League Champs 2 of the last 3 seasons and rebounded with a strong third period and pulled out the draw. An ugly little pattern has developed for Snickas goalie Kirk Burgess in that all 8 goals he's allowed this year have come from within 10 feet of the net. Deflections and loose rebounds seem to be the problem. With an offence that seems to blow hot and cold, Snickas really need to right their defensive problems if they want to contend for the Regular Season Title and a spot in the Starbucks Super Series. Remember back to last season where it was a poor start to the season that did Snickas in.
No one player shined last night and the only real talking point after the game was the condition of Captian Chris Morton's groin. Chris left after the second period favoring his soft spot. We will do our best to keep you posted on the this injury.

The Wrap: Snickas vs. HSBC Bank

Snickas & HSBC Bank skate to a 4-4 tie.
“At least we didn’t lose”, said one of the players and that’s all that can really be said about last night’s performance. Snickas blew leads of 3-1 and 4-2 and the tie leaves Snickas with 3 points to show from their first 2 games.
The tie probably felt more like a loss for Snickas, 5 minutes before the puck dropped the Commissioner of the League came into the locker room and told the guys to “go easy out there tonight” because HSBC are going to be relegating next week. Not what you want to hear seconds before you hit the ice. The thoughts going through the boys minds of coming out and jumping all over one of their long tine league rivals were now tainted, a week of preparation out the window.
Last night’s game saw the return of Kirk Burgess to the Snickas goal. Kirk missed last week and look pretty good in his first outing of the season. All four goals were scored in tight off rebounds and defensive zone breakdowns, but the Snickas keeper showed no rust on the long shots making several key saves to help Snickas get at least a point.
Man of the Match: Craig Morton. The Snickas sniper continued his hot start to the season by scoring one of the prettiest wristes you’ve ever seen.
Next week Monday Snickas take on The Brampton Sharks. Puck drop is at 10:15pm.

Game Day edition:The Champs are back, actually last week was the season opener but we here at Snickas Weekly just got back from Ireland where we watched Europe put the boots to the Yanks at the Ryder Cup.The Ryder Cup stories will come later, lets get back on the ice. Snickas began their title defense last Monday night with 9-4 win over last years Regular Season Champs; the Milton Chiefs. Kent Burgess subbed in goal for Kirk Burgess, who was off celebrating an Anniversary with his lovely wife. Kirk will be back in goal for tonight's action.
The Summer layoff has a been a good one for several members of Snickas with Baby News dominating the headlines. Several players became first time fathers and one even became a repeat offender. A few of the lads also announced they were "Fathers elect" so the new season should bring more babies and another Championship for your favorite team in tan.
The Summer also saw Snickas Entertainment which owns and operates Snickas Weekly sign a multi year contract with The other half ... for World wide distribution rights. Snickas Weekly will no longer be a "mom and pop" email sent out twice a week, it will now have a home right here at The other half... Look for links to the True North Hockey leagues official website, where schedules and Standings can be found along with game action pictures. The pictures will come once we hire a photographer and stop spending most of the budget on beer.

As always the first game of the new year sees the Regular Season Champs(Milton Chiefs) take on the Play-off Champs(Snickas); in England this is called the "Charity Shield", in Brampton it's just called "Monday Night".
The game was tied 4-4 heading into the third when Snickas exploded for 5 or 6 goals(totals are a little fuzzy because the league doesn't like goal spreads over 5 because sportsmanship suffers and nobody wants that). The goal explosion was enough send Snickas to the top of the league standings(Snickas actually sit second.
