The Wrap: Snickas vs. Swamp Donkeys

A new calendar but the same results, Snickas win their 6th in their last 7 with a 5-3 win over the Swamp Donkeys.

In a game that looked to have gotten away from them, Snickas showed why they are 2-time League champs with a stirring come from behind win. After racing out to a 2-0 lead, Snickas seemed to take their foot off the pedal and allowed the Donkeys to get back in the game. After a 2 goal first period, Snickas found themselves trailing 3-2 by the midway point of the second stanza. The Donkeys scored 3 goals in 3 and half minutes and looked to have taken all the momentum, but like the Champions they are Snickas rallied back and put the game away in the third period.

Snickas Stars:
1st Star:
Kirk Burgess. The Snickas goalie may not be having his best year statistically speaking but he is certainly making the big saves when it counts. Kirk made 4 or 5 of the game changing variety in the third period alone.
2nd Star: Brian Titherington. A Hat Trick for the Snickas "Jack of all trades". BT now leads the league in goal scoring by 5 goals; 14 in 14 games!
3rd Star: Paul Stinnett. 2 assists and a huge shot block in the second period. Stinnett got off to a slow start this season but has posted 2 multi point games in Snickas last 3 outings.

Another tough game is on the horizon next week as Snickas take on the red hot Seamen. Snickas lead the Molson Canadian Division by a single point of the Seamen. The action gets under way at 7:15pm.
