In a game that was bogged down with 17 minor penalties Snickas found away to keep their unbeaten streak intact with a 3-1 win over the Seamen.
The game was marred by 11 stick infractions and Snickas felt both sides of the man advantage sword, netting twice on the power play but giving up a short handed goal to start the game. In a miscommunication between Defenseman Chris Murdoch and Goalie Kirk Burgess the puck was turned over and Snickas found themselves behind early. The Snickas offence was not so much slowed by the Seamen defense as it was by all the penalties and it took a period for the boys in tan to get things going. The final two periods belonged to Snickas, and the puck barely left the Seamen's end. When the Seamen did get a chance Kirk Burgess was there to shut the door on them.
Snickas 3 Stars!!
3rd Star: Chris Murdoch, put an early defensive lapse behind him and notched two assists on the night.
2nd Star: Craig Morton, continued his torrid early season goal binge. Now has goals is four straight games.
1st Star: Brian Titherington, swooped in and used an EA Sports NHLPA 2001 move to score the game winner.
Next week Snickas face off in a battle for league supremacy against old foes the Milton Chiefs.
